Stephen Fleming loses captaincy of NZ Black Caps

NEW Zealand cricket captain Stephen Fleming has been stood down.

Fleming has been flirting with the idea of joining the rebel Indian Cricket League and Kiwi officials have decided to axe him.

In the process of being eased out of the skipper’s job in favour of Daniel Vettori, Fleming’s base contract with NZ was believed to be less than $200,000.

Fleming, 34, is expected to pocket more than $1 million if he defects.
