India’s rebel league to clash with Pakistan series

The inaugural tournament of a rebel Indian Twenty20 league will clash with India’s home test series against Pakistan.

Organisers says the tournament will have 20 matches from November 30 to December 16 and will be played in Chandigarh after logistical problems delayed it by a month.

The lucrative Indian Cricket League has attracted a number of big-name players but has come under pressure after India’s national board refused to give the ICL its approval.

The board is launching its own multi-million dollar version from next year with the support of other countries’ boards, including Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

India play five one-day internationals and three tests against Pakistan in November and December.
