New Zealand Cricket Advises Stephen Fleming Not To Sign Up For Indian Cricket League

New Zealand Cricket has advised veteran cricketer Stephen Fleming not to sign up for Indian Cricket League, else his national contract would stand terminated.

“I just said to him this is not in the best interest of New Zealand Cricket,” New Zealand Cricket’s chief executive Justin Vaughan was quoted as saying to the Dominion Post after contacting Fleming, who is in England playing for Nottinghamshire.

“I believe a player of his stature and whose legacy is so magnificent deserves better ways. I’ve spoken more as a friend, as a friend who happens to be the chief executive of New Zealand Cricket.”

Vaughan maintained that NZC was still deciding on its official stance regarding the ICL.
